A funny thing happens with certain pairs of words or phrases. For example, take “dad bod” and “father figure.”
The first words in each pair are synonyms... and the second words in each pair are synonyms... but put together, they mean totally different things!
Each puzzle gives you half of a "DoubleSwap" and a clue to figure out its pair—which is made from synonyms, but means something else.
Think carefully about words that can have multiple meanings, and watch out for weaker synonyms, reversed word order, and puns/homophones on Thursdays and Fridays. If the answer is a compound word, put one half in each box.
